New CATWOMAN pics
Superhero Hype scored these new photos of Halle Berry in her Catwoman costume. Unfortunately, these are starting to make the photo TIME released a week ago look pretty good. Remember a few years ago when Tim Burton was planning on directing this project with Michelle Pfeiffer reprising the Catwoman role? Man, that would have been cool.

Obey Lucas
Thanks to yakface.com, a few details are leaking out about an upcoming top secret event being held by Lucasfilm. The press have not been invited to this event, it is for Lucasfilm corporate partners only. The invitation itself is a Darth Vader glued to an acrylic block. An attached metal plate reads:
LORD VADER IS PLANNING A MAJOR ASSAULT.
HE SUMMONS YOU TO SHARE HIS TOP SECRET
BATTLE PLANS.
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2003
THE OFFICERS’ CLUB
AT THE PRESIDIO
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
LIGHTSABERS AND BLASTERS MUST BE CHECKED AT THE DOOR.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU
Rumors are circulating like crazy that this has something to do with the oft-rumored release of Star Wars on DVD. Digital Bits had this to say: “With Episode III still nearly two years away from theaters, it’s entirely possible that this meeting is intended to announce the DVD release plan to retailers for next year.”

GODZILLA News
Henshin Online reports that the new Godzilla flick will hit theaters in Japan this Christmas. From what I can decipher the official title is: Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS. Toho has just updated the official website and a kick-***censored*** trailer. I love those little Mothra chicks.
Rumors/News about this film include:
• It also includes a brief cameo by Kameba, the giant sea turtle from Yog, Monster From Space.
• Tokyo Tower once again gets destroyed
• Four monsters take on the Big G in the final battle: Mechagodzilla, Mothra and twin Mothra larvae.
• Popular Japanese swimsuit model Miho Yoshioka has been cast as the pilot of the AC-3 White Heron, the plane used to transport Mechagodzilla into battle.

Will Ferrell stays busy
Will Ferrell has just lined up another lead role, this time as the coach of a kid’s soccer team. Over the course of the season, Ferrell finds himself at odds with his own father who is coashing a rival team and is considered the “Vince Lombardi of the pint-sized soccer circuit.” According to Variety, the film is untitled and will begin filming in January under the direction of Marco Schnabel.
To give you an idea of how busy Ferrell is, consider this: The release of Elf is just around the corner and Ferell has already wrapped production on Anchorman and an untitled Woody Allen film. Next, he will go into production on Winter Passing, the soccer flick, Bewitched, The Salesman and voiceover work on Curious George. To top things off, he also has a cameo in Starsky and Hutch that is supposedly so hilarious it steals the entire movie.
For most stars, this could almost be looked at as overexposure. But when it comes to Will Ferrell, is there really such a thing?

2046 :: Wong Kar-wai's next film
I still remember the night I went to see Chungking Express in a mostly deserted run-down shopping mall theater. Thanks to Shogo, I knew about the film and knew that we had to go see it. But I was unprepared for what to expect. It blew me away. At the time, Chungking Express was really something different, or at least something I was unaccustomed to seeing. I fell in love with the film and have been a Wong Kar-wai fan ever since.
So I have been following the progress of 2046 with great interest. It’s been in production for quite a while, but nobody really knows anything about it. It appears to be a science fiction movie. To add to the difficulty of tracking the progress of this film is that it seems to be continually changing. Every few months, Wong shuts down production to go wrap up some other project.
French distributor, Ocean, released this description a while back, but I can’t vouch for how accurate it is: “2046 is a figure that brings a year to mind, 50 years after Hong Kong returned to China...but that is also the number that stays in Chow Mo-Wan’s mind (Tony Leung) since In the Mood for Love. Is it a number related to his past that haunts him ? Is it a number from his present, while he’s getting shelters in cheap hotel rooms ? Or is it the number that comes to his mind in the science fiction story he’s writing to make a living ?”
Here’s another description that Shogo found: 2046‘s story picks up right by the end of In The Mood For Love: after Su Lizhen (Maggie Cheung) leaves, Zhou Muyun (Leung Chiu-Wai) becomes a very lonely writer. He meets a prostitute (Zhang Ziyi) and spends a night with her at room 2046, the very same room he had an affair with Su Lizhen. Then he starts writing a novel called 2046, in which he reunites with Su Lizhen. Chang Chen and Lau Kar-Ling play a couple of lovers; Wong Yaye and Kimura Takuya plays a pair of robot lovers. They are all characters in the book, and they are all from the future…
This is really intriguing, particularly the fact that it is sort of a sequel to In the Mood For Love but this movie remains an enigma. Here are some pics we have scored from various places on the internet.
