UNDERWORLD spawns sequels
Underworld cleaned up at the box office in its opening weekend and now Variety is reporting that sequels are in the works. Screen Gems (a division of Sony) has signed Danny McBride and Len Wiseman to write a sequel with Wiseman again directing. The possibility of Underworld 3 will be explored when the first sequel is finished. Underworld 3 is currently as envisioned as a prequel. The studio is planning to fast-track the project, probably to secure Beckinsale while she is still affordable. Although, with her husband directing that might not be a problem. Beckinsale is currently filming Martin Scorcese’s The Aviator.

New ELF trailer and site
New Line Cinema recently launched a full site for the Will Ferrell holiday comedy ELF. The site is pretty loaded with info about the film, elf-cards, wallpapers and coloring pages for the kids. Most exciting is a full version of the trailer which reveals a lot more about the films premise and supporting characters. I predict this movie is going to be HUGE. It opens on the same day as Matrix:Revolutions, but the PG-rating, holiday theme and Will Ferrell are going to give this flick a fighting chance.

TARANTINO: "This CGI bullshit is the death of cinema."
Empire Magazine recently caught Quentin Tarantino at his most riled up. The interview will appear in their November issue (on stands September 26). In the interview Tarantino mentions something that happend when he screened KILL BILL for director Luc Besson and “actor” Keanu Reeves.
“I watched Keanu watching and I suddenly felt it,’ said Tarantino. “You know, my guys are all real. There’s no computer ***censored*** around. I’m sick to death of all that ***censored***. This is old school with ***censored*** cameras. If i’d wanted all that computer game bullshit, I’d have gone home and stuck my dick in my Nintendo.
“This CGI bullshit is the death knell of cinema. Movies are far too ***censored*** expensive at the moment and it’s killing the ***censored*** art form. The way it’s going, in ten year’s time it will officially be killed.”
Check out Empire’s November issue for more details including some revelations about KILL BILL VOLUME 2. “Vol 1 is a pure burst of adrenaline. Two we slow it down a little bit, you get to know the characters more, especally Bill; he’s in every other ***censored*** frame. Two’s more like my other movies, the dialogue comes to the fore, and it’s more chronologically ***censored***. And it really ain’t gonna end pretty.”
