New LOST IN TRANSLATION photos
Man, I love that movie poster and can’t wait to see this movie.
In Sofia Coppola’s second directorial project, Lost In Translation, Bill Murray plays a washed up movie star in Tokyo to shoot a whiskey commercial. One lonely night in a hotel bar, he meets Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson). Charlotte is a young woman in Tokyo with her workaholic photographer husband. Their chance meeting is the beginning of a surprising friendship.
The film is already receiving great reviews and will be opening in major markets on September 12 with a wider release on September 19 and 26.

TRAILER
An R-rated trailer for Once Upon a Time in Mexico is now available. This trailer was part of the “special edition” DVD which wasn’t that special compared to the original, except for this trailer.

House of the Dead site killed
Fangoria reported today that the MPAA has clamped down on the official House of the Dead website even though it has been up for ages. Apparently, the site was deemed too disturbing as it featured a number of “extremely gory” stills. The trailer is still available for download here.
The MPAA has jurisdiction over a movies promotional materials and that jurisdiction extends to websites. This is prompting many studios to “leak” materials onto the net, as is currently happening with a number of bootleg trailers for Cabin Fever.
Studios should feel free to leak any extremely gory, disturbing or overtly erotic material to Cinema Eye.

Blade fans gets lucky
Variety reported today that Jessica Biehl will be joining the cast of Blade III. Biehl will play the daughter of Kris Kristofferson’s Whistler character from the previous films. Her character will play one-half of a vampire hunter team. The other half is unfortunately portrayed by Van Wilder’s Ryan Reynolds.
Perhaps most noteworthy is the lightning quick and ultra-enthusiastic reaction of movie news sites to report this news. We suspect the enthusiastic reaction is probably just giddy joy at having a reason to post scantily clad photos of the former Seventh Heaven actress as part of their news reports.
Not wanting to be left out, Cinema Eye decided to report on the news as well.
