Hitch Magazine launches a kick-ass new site!
Long-time Cinema Eye readers will be familiar with Rod Lott, writer of quite a few movie reviews and the long-running Hitch Daily feature. In fact you may have even noticed that the Hitch Daily feature has been absent of late. Why? It’s because Rod has been hard at work getting a full-on Hitch Magazine website going. HitchMagazine.com features not only the daily doses of pop culture absurdity you’ve come to know and love, but it will also feature a huge archive of articles from the print version of Hitch. This site is just getting started, but you can already taste its awesomeness. It’s yet another great site to add to your daily reads. Bookmark it today: hitchmagazine.com.

Director admits ELEKTRA sucked
As bad as DAREDEVIL was, I actually held out a small amount of hope that ELEKTRA would be cool. After all, it at least featured Jennifer Garner in pre baby-making shape, wearing skimpy costumes and fighting bad guys. Unfortunately, the movie was terrible. There were elements that hinted at coolness, but nothing ever came together. In an interview with Now Playing, ELEKTRA director Rob Bowman basically admits that the movie sucked and goes on to offer a few excuses.
I knew going into the project, because of the short prep, because I only had Jennifer for her hiatus from Alias, which was ten weeks, and [because of] the short postproduction, that we weren’t going to be able to make SPIDER-MAN. We didn’t have the time to make SPIDER-MAN. We didn’t have the time to make DAREDEVIL! That was OK, because I was not making a movie about size and spectacle, about giant visual effects. The best movies are stories about people and their inner struggles - those are my favorite films. I finally said, ‘Let’s not get down about the fact that we don’t have the time to make BATMAN or SPIDER-MAN. Let’s embrace what we do have, which is a very interesting character.’
Unfortunately, they weren’t true to the character of ELEKTRA because the real Elektra would have killed off that annoying kid and her dad thus making it a very cool movie.

More HARRY POTTER pics
We have just scored some scans from an upcoming HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE poster book. But I will warn you, these pics are not for the casual Harry Potter fan. This stuff is for the hardcore freaks and pre-pubescent kids. But I will treat you to a thumbnail of what has to be the gayest Harry Potter photo yet. Click on the thumbnail for a full size view or visit the full HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE image gallery.

Weekend Box-Office >> THE FOG is #1
You can blame those ***censored*** teenage audiences. THE FOG, another sucky PG-13 horror movie has opened at #1, ensuring many more stupid PG-13 horror remakes. WALLACE AND GROMIT held strong and ELIZABETHTOWN overcame dismal reviews for the #3 slot. DOMINO completely tanked (worse than I had predicted) and THE GOSPEL continues to be the little movie that could.
- The Fog - $12.2 Million
- Wallace & Gromit - $11.7 Million
- Elizabethtown - $11 Million
- Flightplan - $6.5 Million
- In Her Shoes - $6.1 Million
- Domino - $ 4.7 Million
- Two For the Money - $ 4.6 Million
- A History of Violence - $ 3.6 Million
- Corpse Bride - $ 3.5 Million
- The Gospel - $ 3.2 Million
