Unrated LAND OF THE DEAD hits select theaters
George Romero’s LAND OF THE DEAD was a disappointment at the box office and with many fans. I actually liked it quite a bit. The people who didn’t like it seem to mainly have a problem with the political element. To me, this didn’t seem any more prevalent than in Romero’s previous films. But all that aside, I am looking forward to adding LAND OF THE DEAD to my DVD collection. I will definitely be opting for the Unrated edition which looks to be very cool. To help promote the unrated edition of the DVD, Universal Studios is teaming up with Fangoria for a one night only screening of LAND OF THE DEAD on the big screen in various cities across the U.S..
Here’s a trailer for the event.

DVD WHORE >> October 4, 2005
It’s Tuesday! That of course means new DVDs. This is actually a pretty decent week for DVDs. I will definitely be picking up THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK MASTERPIECE COLLECTION and THE VAL LEWTON HORROR COLLECTION... but the disc I’m really excited about is WARRIORS. Unfortunately, this disc doesn’t feature the theatrical cut which is a real shame. If you’re looking for a really good rental, I watched THE INTERPRETER last night and it’s pretty ***censored*** good as well. There’s a complete list of todays releases after the jump. If you haven’t been to the store yet, consider using these handy links to add to your collection while helping to support Cinema Eye. Use the comments link to let us know what you bought (or wish you could afford) this week.

Dutto has been signed for three months of shooting but will take a break to fly to Paris for Fashion Week. We don’t have a picture of Dutto yet, but the exciting news is that this project seems to finally be moving forward.
