Hatsukoi Trailer Now Available!
One of the film that I am most anticipatedly waiting this year is this Japanese film, Hatsu-Koi. It stars the best, yes the best Japanese actress working today, Aoi Miyazaki. She has been exploring different genre lately, including a moody romatic film, Sukida, a thriller, Gimme Heaven and a teen bop film Nana. Hatsukoi explores Japan’s biggest bank robbery ever and twist is that it was master minded by a high school girl played by Aoi. It does look brilliant. Click here to check out the trailer.
Happy Together 10th Anniversary
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Wong Kar Wai’s HAPPY TOGETHER. As you all know, Wong Kar Wai brokebacked and explored the romance between two lovers long before cowboys rode each other.

LADY V on DVD (R1)!!!!!!
![]()
Tartan USA has sent us press release of their up-coming DVD releases on August ans September. The list is looking better than ever! Why? Cause they are releasing one of the most anticipated film on DVD. Sympathy For Lady Vengeance! I am trully, Madly hoping that they will include director’s cut version as well. Even though i liked the color scheme of theatrical version better than director’s cut B&W version, still cool to have both verisons.
Here are the list.
One Take Only (August 22nd)
H6: Diary of a Serial Killer (August 22nd)
The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (September 12th)
The Maid (September 12th)
Lady Vengeance (September 26th)

The Last Vampire Is Coming
Variety has confirmed that a live action adaptation of Production IG anime, BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE will be helmed by Ronny Yu (Fearless, Seed of Chucky). The plot follows a young demon slaying female vampire (think hard core version of Buffy).
Now that TV series of the same title is aired and out on DVD, its popularity is at its peak. So no wonder they are trying to crank this up.

Yakusho Replaces Bruce Willis
One of the best Japanese actors of today Kouji Yakusho (Shall We Dance?, Memoirs of Geisha, he is one of a few Japanese actually played Japanese among Chinese cast. He is a dude in middle) is now providing his voice for an anime project for the first time. He will be one of many actors in Japan to over dub Over The Hedge by Dreamworks. He will be replacing Bruce Willis for voice of whatever his characters name is. Yakusho has done quite lot of works lately (starred in one of the biggest hit of last Holiday season, Uchouten Hotel, and Hollywood film Geisha. I think he is making wise decisions to cross over all the borders. He will be making appearance at Cannes film festival this year.
