DVD Rental from NetFlix
It is becoming increasingly easy to rent your favorite DVD movies, the ease by which DVD’s can be watched via the mail is a major factor combined with falling prices.
The DVD rental market is maturing all the time. Movies delivered to your PC through broadband is also a emerging market, eg JohnQ Internet TV that is expected to gain a real foothold in the next year but for now DVD rental is a excellent option if you only want to watch a film once for a low low price.
If you want to give this a go then we recommend Netflix DVD Rental.

DVD WHORE
It’s new DVD day! I have to admit my DVD buying has slowed down to almost nothing but I look back with nostalgia on the days of waiting outside BEST BUY for them to open at 10 a.m. so I could buy the new releases. The last DVD I purchased was the Criterion Edition of Le Samourai, so it’s definitely been awhile. Nothing would be very tempting to me this week except for WALLACE AND GROMIT (Review), but as far as rentals go, I am definitely looking forward to checking out WAITING (Review), especially since it is UNRATED AND RAW and despite bad reviews, I want to give Cameron Crowe’s ELIZABETHTOWN (Review) a shot.
There is a complete list of this weeks new releases after the jump, but I am curious to know what you might be buying this week. New releases, old releases, use the comments feature to let us know. Rekindle my passion for new DVDs!

SEX MACHINE official site is now on-line
The official site for the movie SEX MACHINE is now on-line. SEX MACHINE is an ultra low-budget thriller already garnering acclaim for it’s innovative visual style. The site is filled with information about the film including hundreds of photos, a trailer, a mini-clip, downloadable wallpapers and a lengthy production journal that details how the micro-budget project was actually made. If you’re interested in cult movies, independent cinema or zero-budget filmmaking, you’ll find plenty to sink your teeth into.

John Carpenter launches new site
You can knock his recent films all you want, but John Carpenter will always be one of my favorite horror directors. So despite the fact that GHOSTS OF MARS really sucked, I will continue to remain on the lookout for new Carpenter films. So I was intrigued when a friend pointed out what I presume is a new official John Carpenter website. It’s pretty sparse at the moment but offers a tantalizing glimpse at CIGARETTE BURNS, which is Carpenter’s episode of the MASTERS OF HORROR series which is currently running on Showtime. The site is a little Flash-heavy for my tastes, but there are a few areas where it is genuinely a little creepy.
