TRAILER: A Scanner Darkly

A Scanner Darkly Trailer

The long-awaited A SCANNER DARKLY looks like it is finally going to be released this July. The release date has been moved more times than I can count, but I think it is actually going to hit theaters in July. Adding weight to this theory is a full-length trailer which has just hit the web. This trailer is way better than the last one and does a great job of hinting at the story of the movie instead of trying to look like some super-cool thriller. From what I’ve seen, there is a lot of comedy in this movie to go with all of the sci-fi mind-bending weirdness. So check it out and let us know what you think. Is it going to be a groundbreaking work of animation? Or does it look like somebody went crazy with Photoshop filters. Discuss!

SuperBowl Sunday Movie Ads

I skipped the Super Bowl this year. Not interested in the football or in the commercials. But ... there were a batch of movie trailers that premiered during the game. Thanks the the internet you can just click on a link and watch them on demand. Here’s a list of the ones we rounded up for you. I highly recomment the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 trailer, even if you skip the rest.

So check them out and for non-movie related SuperBowl ads, head over to iFilm.

TRAILER: Bubble

image

Hitting the web today is the first trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s BUBBLE. This is a strange but very cool trailer that almost works as a short film on it’s own right.

BUBBLE trailer

BUBBLE is going to be part of a pretty interesting experiment in that it will be available on DVD and via HDNET on the same day it is released in theaters. It will be very interesting to see how this release experiment plays out. It could have a huge impact on the way movies are released in the future.  Read the rest...

TRAILER: Clerks 2

image

There’s a huge part of me that is still convinced that CLERKS 2 is a terrible idea, but there is a part of me that is definitely looking forward to it. The original CLERKS was a good movie that happened to hit at just the right time. I still like the movie, warts and all. But Smith has been mining this same material for 10 years now, each time with diminishing returns. Even though his super-early teaser is geared towards the hard-core View Askew fans, it does leave me a little more intrigued about seeing the movie. And Rosario Dawson is looking even cuter than usual.

In other CLERKS 2 related multimedia, check out this featurette entitled THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE MAN, which shows Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez reacting to a private screening of the flick.

TRAILER: Adam Sandler's CLICK

image

I’m not a fan of Adam Sandler’s mainstream movies, but any movie with a cast that includes Kate Beckinsale, Christopher Walken and DAVID HASSELHOFF is at least worth a rental. CLICK tells the story of a guy with a remote control that gives him magical powers. The concept seems like a perfect match for Sandler’s target audience. Check out the trailer at Adam Sandler’s official site.
