THE FANTASTIC WEEKEND OF QUEBEC SHORTS is one of the most important events for the Quebec short movie scene. Three years ago the entire event was made up of barely 80 short films. This year we have over 130 movies split among 11 programs and shown at the magnificent Imperial Cinema.

Novelist, filmmaker, maverick and feminist, Cathreine Breillat has crated quite a name for herself in Ontario after the province banned her sexually explicit ROMANCE. For the fist time, Cinematheque Ontario presents an exhaustive list of her films including ROAMNCE, my favourite of hers, A MA SOUER (FAT GIRL) and her latest BARBE BLEU. Her common theme in all her films is sex, whether performed, imagined or hidden.

Godard's Homage to Rohmer
TIFF Cinematheque is proud to present the North American Premiere of Jean-Luc Godard’s three-and-a-half minute video hommage to Eric Rohmer that was created for a special tribute that took place at the Cinémathèque française this past February.
This video will screen before L’AMOUR L’APRES-MIDI on August 10 at 7pm
