ASIAN FEVER now daily

image

Regular visitors will have noticed some tinkering with the layout and navigation of Cinema Eye. One of the new features I’d like to point your attention to is the new ASIAN FEVER section. You may remember a monthly ASIAN FEVER column from awhile back. It was so popular we decided to expand it into its very own section. ASIAN FEVER focuses on Asian cinema and pop culture. It is written by Cinema Eye regular Shogo. Make sure you check it out every day.

Steven Spielberg voted Best Director

image

EMPIRE MAGAZINE has released a special issue devoted to the Greatest Directors of all time. At the top of the list is Steven Spielberg. While Spielberg is a great director most of the time, I just don’t see how can edge out Hitchcock, Scorcese and Kubrick. After all, he is the man responsible for HOOK. Anyway, here’s the list of the top 10. What do you think? Who would be in the top slot of your list?

1. Steven Spielberg
2. Alfred Hitchcock
3. Martin Scorsese
4. Stanley Kubrick
5. Sir Ridley Scott
6. Akira Kurosawa
7. Peter Jackson
8. Quentin Tarantino
9. Orson Welles
10. Woody Allen

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 about to be shut down

The history of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 has been a very troubled one. It has attracted a slew of interesting directors including David Fincher, Joe Carnahan and J.J. Abrams. Top-notch female talent have signed onto the project only to depart when pre-production continued to drag on. Now, the final nail may have been driven into the coffin of the project. I’m talking about the maniac Tom Cruise.

George Clooney is Optimus Prime

image

George Clooney has in talks to play Optimus Prime in the upcoming feature film version of THE TRANSFORMERS. According to AbsoluteNow.com, Clooney is a big Transformers fan and when he heard a movie was in the works, wanted to be a part of it. According to AbsoluteNow’s scooper: “"George is a big kid when it comes to stuff like robots and especially Transformers. When he heard they were making a movie he made no secret of the fact he wanted to be in it.” The film will be directed by BAD BOYS 2 auteur Michael Bay and we couldn’t think of a better choice for this project.
