Luc Besson directs animated film
I was just wondering the other day if Luc Besson was ever going to direct another movie or if he was content to just recycle ideas from the PROFESSIONAL into movies for Jet Li. After doing a little bit of research, I discovered that Besson has an animated film in development. It’s called ARTHUR AND THE MINOMOYS and it is apparently based on a children’s book Besson did awhile back. Whatever it is, it looks exceedingly strange. It’s being planned for a Christmas 2006 release. Official Site.

Crispin Glover to play The Joker?
The obsessive Bat-fan site BATMAN ON FILM is reporting some valid rumors about casting for the sequels to BATMAN BEGINS. They are betting on Liev Schreiber for the role of Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two Face. The second film would introduce Dent in his district attorney role before turning evil. Also introduced in the second film will be The Joker. Leading contender in the rumor mill for this role is Crispin Glover. Glover is one of those too-good-to-be-true casting rumors, but we can keep our fingers crossed. He is a definite fan favorite for the role just like Christian Bale was for Batman.

The film will be titled INLAND EMPIRE and will be produced by StudioCanal. Supposedly, more information will be revealed today, but rumor has it that it involves a film within a film. The film is believed to star Laura Dern, Justin Theroux, Harry Dean Stanton and Jeremy Irons.
“It’s about a woman in trouble, and it’s a mystery, and that’s about all I want to say about it,” Lynch told Variety.
