We have written lots about Miguel Coyula‘s incredible debut feature RED COCKROACHES. He is now hard at work on a new feature (which we can’t wait to see). But meanwhile, he has released BAILAR SOBRE AGUJAS (DANCING ON NEEDLES) via YouTube. This is a short film Coyula directed while in film school in 1999. The YouTube doesn’t do it any favors, but it still offers a glimpse at the greatness that is to come complete with some of Coyula’s signature flourishes: creepy atmosphere, luscious visuals, expressionistic lighting and tortured characters.
