Pis nous autres dans tout ça? (So, Where Do We Fit In?)
Directed by Andréanne Germain, 2007, 24 min.
What would happen if three huge Franco-Ontarian flags wandered over the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City during the St. Jean Baptiste celebrations? A young Ontario francophone, Andréanne Germain, goes in search of an answer.
Followed by:
Le chœur d’une culture (Together in Harmony)
Directed by Marie-France Guerette, 2009, 27 min.
The Chorale Saint-Jean from Edmonton is invited to take part in festivities organized for Quebec City’s 400th anniversary. Both poignant and charming, the film shows that French outside Quebec doesn’t necessarily have a bleak future.
The program is preceded by an animated short film:
Vive la rose
Directed by Bruce Alcock, 2009, 6 min.
Based on the last recording by one of Newfoundland’s foremost traditional music performers, Emile Benoit’s tender delivery of the 18th century French song is the heart of Vive la rose.
The full program is presented in French with English subtitles.
