WARNER BROS. CANADA TAKES TREE LIGHTING TO NEW HIGHS

Toronto – October 25th, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures Canada today announced its plan to kick off the holiday season ‘Harold & Kumar’ style with a special tree lighting ceremony in Toronto.

To celebrate the November 4th theatrical release of “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas,” Torontonians are invited to ‘get lit’ at 4:20 PM on Thursday, October 27 at Yonge & Dundas Square and help spark some holiday magic at the lighting of a uniquely decorated, giant ‘munchies’ Christmas tree.

The first 420 people to arrive will receive a premature Christmas present, which could include passes to see “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas”, tickets to the October 30th Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Redskins NFL game, and other great prizes.  Nestlé Kit Kat Santa Claus Wafer Bars and holiday treats from Toronto’s Wanda’s Waffles will be offered to all guests on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Christmas comes prematurely at this special holiday event.

WHO:  New fans, old fans – everyone is invited to this FREE event!

WHAT:  “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” tree lighting ceremony

WHEN:  Thursday, October 27th from 4:20 PM – 7:20 PM

ABOUT “A VERY HAROLD AND KUMAR 3D CHRISTMAS”

John Cho and Kal Penn reprise their title roles in “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas,” which picks up six years following their last adventure.

After years of growing apart, Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations.  But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold’s house ends with the “high grade” contents—and Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree— going up in smoke.  With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean.  Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven—and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.

The third installment is the first to highlight the guys’ hilarious mishaps in 3D.  The 2004 cult hit “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” launched the franchise, followed by “Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.”

It would not be a “Harold & Kumar” film without Neil Patrick Harris, who returns along with Paula Garcés, Danneel Harris, Eddie Kaye Thomas, David Krumholtz and Bobby Lee.  Joining the ensemble are Tom Lennon, Danny Trejo, Elias Koteas, Amir Blumenfeld, Patton Oswalt, Richard Riehle, Jordan Hinson, John Hoogenakker, Jake Johnson, Yasen Payankov and David Burtka.

Todd Strauss-Schulson helms, marking his major feature film directorial debut.  Academy Award®-winner Greg Shapiro (“The Hurt Locker”) returns as producer and Mandate President Nathan Kahane, Nicole Brown, Richard Brener, Michael Disco, and Samuel J. Brown are executive producing.  The screenplay is by Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg, who also served as co-producers, along with Kelli Konop and Jonathan McCoy.

New Line Cinema presents, in association with Mandate Pictures, a Kingsgate Films Production, “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.” Opening November 4, 2011, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
