DETAILS: Horror leader Anchor Bay Entertainment will have a huge presence at August 27th through to the 29th at the Toronto Convention Centre for the 2010 Festival Of Fear, the 6th installment of Canada’s premiere horror event.
Fans will be able to meet and greet with their favorite Anchor Bay Entertainment filmmakers and stars, and get behind-the-scenes scoops from their exciting projects:
I Spit On Your Grave: This remake of the controversial 1978 cult classic opening in theatres this fall brings out stars Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Director Steven R. Monroe and Producer Lisa Hansen.
Durham County Season Two: The second season of this award winning Canadian production just debuted on DVD and Michelle Forbes and Greyston Holt, Co-Creator, Director Adrienne Mitchell, Producer Janis Lundman, Co-Creator, and Writer Laurie Finstad Knizhnik will be at the Festival to tell fans about it.
First Squad Screening: First local chance to see this award-winning Russian/Japanese anime about a secret and supernatural battle to defeat the Nazis in WWII Eastern Europe will screen.
Frozen: This chilling story of three skiers stranded on a chairlift and forced to make life-or-death choices that could be more perilous than staying put and freezing to death will screen.
Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet: In this brand new horror film screening this weekend, a group of teenagers come face to face with the Long Island legend of Mary Hatchet, “Blood Night”.
Meet and greets with all of our guests will take place at the Anchor Bay booth throughout the weekend.

Friday, August 27
5:30pm I Spit On Your Grave panel in Room 205B A writer is brutalized during her cabin retreat and seeks revenge on her attackers, who left her for dead. Scenes from the film will be screened and discussed by the panel, after which fans will have a chance to ask questions. Participants include leads Sarah Butler and Jeff Branson, Director Steven R. Monroe, and Producer Lisa Hansen with a special appearance from the star of the original film, Camille Keaton. Moderator: Richard Crouse (CTV’s Canada AM and NewsTalk 1010’s At the Movies). Duration: 1 hour
7:00pm Cast and creators of I Spit On Your Grave will be at the Anchor Bay Booth (#525) to meet fans and sign autographs. Must provide proof of panel attendance to guarantee autograph. Camille Keaton will be signing at the Rue Morgue booth throught the weekend. Duration: 1 hour
7:00pm First Squad screens in Screaming Room 1. This award winning Russian/Japanese anime is set during the opening days of World War II on the Eastern Front, its main cast is a group of Soviet teens with extraordinary abilities. The teenagers have been drafted to form a special unit to fight the invading German army. They are opposed by a Schutzstaffel (SS) officer who is attempting to raise from the dead a supernatural army of crusaders from the 12th Century Order of the Sacred Cross and enlist them in the Nazi cause. Duration: 73 minutes
Saturday, August 28
11:00am Frozen screens in Screaming Room 1. As Sunday evening falls, three snowboarding friends decide to take one last run down the slope. Halfway up the mountain, their chair lift stops, the lights go out and the resort closes for the week. They are stranded, but the worst is still to come. A storm is approaching. Frostbite is setting in. And on the ground below them, a pack of hungry wolves has gathered to wait. 12:30pm Durham County Season Two panel in room 104A. Detective Mike Sweeney (Hugh Dillon) is pitted against against an antagonist who has found a place in his heart and his bed. Dr. Penelope Verrity (Michelle Forbes), a forensic psychiatrist, understands the hell Mike suffers as a consequence of his past encounter with serial killer Ray Prager. 12:00 pm Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet screens in Screaming Room 1. Stemming from the real life Long Island legend of Mary Hatchet, “Blood Night” tells the tale of a group of teenagers enjoying their annual Blood Night festivities, when they come face to face with the reality of this haunting legend. One by one the teens begin to disappear and meet their fates. As the body count rises, so do the unanswered questions about their missing friends and the secrets of Mary’s horrifying past. Is there more to this legend than the vengeful ghost of Mary Hatchet and if so who will survive to tell the terrifying tale? Film to be introduced by star Bill Moseley Duration: 83 minutes
