Cars knocks off Pirates in UK & Ireland

Pixar’s animated movie “Cars” has knocked the “Pirates of the Caribbean” sequel “Dead Man’s Chest” off the top of the UK and Ireland cinema chart.
Cars earned £2.67m in weekend takings which were enough to slide into the number one slot and take the lead from Johnny Depp’s pirate movie, which still did well to make £2.62m in its fourth weekend in British cinemas.
Both films made more money across Friday and Sunday than the rest of the top 10’s box office takings combined.
