Comedy, Drama Gemini Award Winners

Toronto, ON – September 7th, 2011 – The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is pleased to announce tonight’s seven Gemini Award Winners at this evening’s Broadcast Gala on CBC Television which included winners in the Comedy, Drama and Sports categories. Comedian Russell Peters, a former Gemini Award winner, hosted the star-studded event which took place at CBC in Toronto.
“On behalf of the Academy, I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to tonight’s winners, as well as all of this years Gemini and Academy Special Award winners. Tonight’s sensational show was the perfect tribute to the exceptional talent in this country,” says Helga Stephenson, interim CEO, ACCT.
Fifty-two Gemini Award winners in News & Sports, Documentary, Lifestyle and Reality categories were announced on Tuesday, August 30th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. A further 61 Gemini Award winners were announced in the Drama, Children’s or Youth, Comedy and Variety categories on Wednesday, August 31st.
