David Fincher to direct TORSO
January 12th, 2006 by Cinema Eye
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fincher has signed on to direct TORSO. TORSO is based on a graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Andreyko. The novel is based on the true story of Elliot Ness—after the glory days of the UNTOUCHABLES—hunting a serial killer in Cleveland. The graphic novel was released in the mid-90s to quite a bit of critical acclaim. It was quickly snatched up by Hollywood and has spent it’s time in development hell. Bendis even created a very funny graphic novel called FORTUNE AND GLORY based on his experiences pitching the project to Hollywood execs. This could be a cool project. David Fincher is one of my favorite directors and we haven’t seen much from him in awhile. TORSO will be his followup to ZODIAC (about the Zodiac Killer). Ehren Kruger will write the script and Paramount will release it.
