Dreamworks picks up MATCH POINT
June 1st, 2005 by Cinema Eye
It was one of the surprise critical hits of this years Cannes Film Festival, but until today MATCH POINT didn’t have a distributor. Today, Reuters reports that Dreamworks has paid $4 million for Woody Allen’s latest film. This puts to rest rumors that the studio was feeling “burned” by the poor box-office performance of the directors last several films. Of course the appearance of Scarlett Johansson in the film can’t hurt ticket sales for this film. Maybe Woody has found his new muse.
