Eli Roth to direct HOSTEL

March 9th, 2005 by Cinema Eye

I don’t care what anybody says. CABIN FEVER is one of the best horror movies in years. I had a blast watching it in the theater and I’ve watched it countless times on DVD. I love it and have been eager to see what director Eli Roth would do for a followup. He had previously announced it would be THE BOX, based on a Richard Matheson short story. Now, it seems Roth has changed gears for the moment and will direct HOSTEL, starring Jay Hernandez (COACH CARTER). The movie is about a group of backpackers travelling abroad who are being killed off one by one by a mysterious slasher.  Screen Gems will produce. Production begins next month. (Via: Variety)
