George Clooney is Optimus Prime

George Clooney has in talks to play Optimus Prime in the upcoming feature film version of THE TRANSFORMERS. According to AbsoluteNow.com, Clooney is a big Transformers fan and when he heard a movie was in the works, wanted to be a part of it. According to AbsoluteNow’s scooper: “"George is a big kid when it comes to stuff like robots and especially Transformers. When he heard they were making a movie he made no secret of the fact he wanted to be in it.” The film will be directed by BAD BOYS 2 auteur Michael Bay and we couldn’t think of a better choice for this project.

I call B.S. on this one.
I think it’s just too early to call on this one. But it’s just a voice-over gig and will no doubt pay pretty well, so I wouldn’t totally rule it out. Supposedly they are going to load it with high-profile talent for all the voices. We’ll see.
