Golden Globe Awards

January 12th, 2009 by Gilbert Seah

Weekend Box Office

The Brits did it with winning quite a bit at last night’s Golden Globes.

Among the winners was Danny Boyle’s SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE that ran away with a slew of awards.  Brits Kate Winslet (winning twice, also for a best supporting role) and Sally Hawkins both took the Best Actress Globes for performances in a drama and comedy respectively.

Best Acceptance: Sally Hawkins
Funniest Presenter: Sacha Baron Cohen
(though his spill about celebrities feeling the recession and having to give up amenities like Madonna of her one personal assistant, Guy Ritchie did not go too well)
Most Embarrassing: Too embarrassing to recount here – a drunken one best forgotten
Biggest Surprise:  Meryl Streep not winning for DOUBT.
