Good Old Doggy Christmas Fun
December 2nd, 2009 by Gilbert Seah
Toronto, ON – You better watch out: This dog knows who’s naughty or nice! This holiday season will be warmer, fuzzier – and furrier! – than ever when Anchor Bay Entertainment unleashes The Dog Who Saved Christmas on DVD!
Part of ABC Family’s “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas” programming event, the original heartwarming and hilarious tale starring Mario Lopez centers on a problem pup who, despite his many four-legged faux pas, ultimately comes out as “top-dog.” The Dog Who Saved Christmas makes its world premiere in prime-time on YTV, November 29, 2009, and will bow(wow) on DVD, December 8, 2009 – just in time to help the families from coast-to-coast celebrate the season!
“The Dog Who Saved Christmas is a fetching comedic tale about love and loyalty – and a must-have addition to any DVD collection,” said Julie Cartwright, svp of brand marketing for Anchor Bay Entertainment. “It brings us great joy to offer this wonderful and timely all-new title, which is sure to be a holiday classic for families to enjoy together for years to come.”
The Dog Who Saved Christmas features the highly recognizable voice talent of Mario Lopez (“Dancing With the Stars,” “Saved By the Bell”) as Zeus, a mischievous yellow Labrador who appears to be less than the dependable guard dog the Bannister family needs. However, when two befuddled burglars set out to break into the family’s home while they are away for Christmas, Zeus snatches the chance to be a hero, proving that every dog – even this one – has his day.
Boasting a kennel club of top talent, The Dog Who Saved Christmas stars Dean Cain (“Superman: The Adventures of Lois & Clark”), Gary Valentine (“King of Queens”), Elisa Donovan (“Clueless; Sabrina, the Teenage Witch”), Mindy Sterling (the Austin Powers trilogy), with Adrienne Barbeau (Fly Me to the Moon). Adding two fresh young faces to the cast as the Bannister children are Sierra McCormick (Land of the Lost, “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”) and Charlie Stewart (“The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”).
The fast-paced, family-friendly adventures in this “paw-fect” seasonal film will have everyone cheering for man’s best friend!
