Halo Movie Delayed

Software giant Microsoft have stopped production on a feature film version of the popular Xbox video game Halo.
The film was being produced by studios Fox and Universal, who both pulled away from the project just last month, but the film-makers were determined to continue with the Halo project.
Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson, responsible for last years King Kong was an executive producer on Halo, which was scheduled for release in Cinemas during the summer of 2008.
Microsoft says it has “mutually agreed” to delay the film with Peter Jackson.
“We are confident that the final feature film will be well worth the wait,” said Microsoft in a statement.
Halo was due to be directed by feature film-maker Neill Blomkamp, his first time in the directors chair for a major blockbuster. The project is not dead of course, just entering the limbo that sometimes happens to ambitious projects like these, we hope that they can bring Halo back.
