Britney’s boobie popped out.

WEEZIE, NO!
Isabel Sanford, best known as the female half of TV’S THE JEFFERSONS, died yesterday. Meanwhile, Elton John certainly scrambles to alter the lyrics to “Candle in the Wind.”
HEADLINE OF THE DAY
“Courtney Love Discharged from N.Y. Hospital” Why does it seem totally natural to see “Courtney Love” and “discharge” in the same sentence?

Hear The Gamits cover The Outfield’s ‘80s hit “Your Love." It’s not any good at all, but if you’re so inclined, you can hear it. I bring it up only to wonder whatever happen to The Outfield. If they’re still together, I’m betting they tour bars and minor league baseball fields.
OFF THE SHELF
Having recently read and enjoyed AND THEN THERE WERE NONE, I decided to tackle some more Agatha Christie, in the form of MURDER AT THE MANOR, an omnibus of three novels. Each concerns a murder (or two) in a stuffy English mansion with loads of rich, vain suspects, but each manages to be different from the others in their own unique way. THE SEVEN DIALS MYSTERY concerns a secret society where the members wear hoods with clock faces, while ORDEAL BY INNOCENCE details the death of a partiarch whose descendants hope “the right person” is responsible for murder. My favorite was CROOKED HOUSE, about a guy hoping to help solve his girlfriend’s grandfather’s murder so she’ll finally agree to marry him. But her family is so dysfunctional, it appears he’ll be blue-balled for quite some time. And the ending is kinda creepy and chilling. I was surprised how all three of the novels instantly hooked me. They’re suspenseful, obviously enough, but also manage to inject some surprising humor.
