Jackie Chan's AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS

Buena Vista Pictures announced today that they had picked up domestic distribution rights for the latest Jackie Chan film. Around the World in 80 Days is an adventure film starring Jackie Chan as a 19th century adventurer circumnavigating the globe in a hot air balloon. Joining him on the trip are Steve Coogan and Cecile de France.

On his adventures he meets a variety of supporting characters—can you say “cameos?” Also appearing in the film are Owen and Luke Wilson, Kathy Bates, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Cleese, Richard Branson and Rob Schneider.

“Around the World in 80 Days is quality family entertainment and another great motion picture from the folks at Walden Media,” said Walt Disney Chariman Dick Cook. “After seeing the film this weekend, we were convinced that this was a perfect release for summer 2004 and we wanted to be involved in bringing it to the moviegoing public. This is a terrific ensemble cast of actors in this updated version of the Jules Verne classic and brings new excitement that today’s audience are going to love.”
