Live Free or Die Hard
August 3rd, 2006 by Chris Blagden
Next summer Bruce Willis will return for a fourth time as tough New York City cop John Mclane, nearly 10 years after the last installment in the Die Hard franchise.
Film Studio 20th Century Fox has now announced a June 29th 2007 US release date for the fourth “Die Hard” film, international release dates will follow.
The fourth Die Hard movie will be called “Live Free or Die Hard” and sees cop John Mclane (Bruce Willis) in a hard hitting new story which centres on an attack on the very computer infrastructure that holds the USA together and bit by bit sees the vital systems that keep the country running normally slowly close down. Enter tough cop John Mclane, of course these particular bad guys were not to know that Mclane just never lets go. Like a dog with a bone the old skool cop is guaranteed to mess with their evil plans.
Directed by Len Wiseman, shooting will commence next month. The July 4th holiday weekend date is also apparently relevant to the film’s plot, but will put the film in competition with Paramount’s big budget “Transformers” film. Bruce Willis is the only confirmed casting thus far. “Live Free or Die Hard” follows on from 1995’s “Die Hard with a Vengeance”, the third film in the series.
