MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 finally finds its starlet

May 24th, 2005 by Cinema Eye

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 has had such a long and troubled development that I was beginning to wonder if the movie would ever actually get made. After several directors came and went, J.J. Abrams (ALIAS) finally landed the gig. His arrival saw the exit of Carrie Anne Moss and Scarlett Johannsen. Buzz started ramping up on the project again a couple of weeks ago when the now skeletal Lindsey Lohan hinted that she was in the running for the female lead. This was followed by rumors that Tom Cruise girlfriend Katie Holmes was actually in the running for the part. Ultimately, all of that speculation was for naught because the leading lady has been signed and it is… Michelle Monaghan. Nope, we haven’t heard of her either but she was last seen in Shane Black’s KISS KISS, BANG BANG.  Filming begins on July 19th in Italy.
