New Bond Girl Announced
February 18th, 2006 by Chris Blagden
It has finally been announced after much speculation that French actress Eva Green has been offered the opportunity to play the enticing Vesper Lynd opposite Daniel Craig in his first appearance as James Bond in the highly anticipated 007 adventure thriller and remake “Casino Royale”.
She’s French actress Eva Green. She’ll star in the new “Casino Royale” as the character of Vesper. Along with yesterday’s announcement of Mads Mikkelsen as the villain Le Chiffre, we also saw the character of James Bond’s stalwart CIA ally Felix Leiter being cast, this time around actor Jeffrey Wright landing the CIA role. Like 007, there have been several different actors playing this role over the history of the Bond franchise.
Eva Green is perhaps best known for acting out the the lead female role in director Ridley Scott’s War epic “Kingdom of Heaven” released last year starring Orlando Bloom. Eva has also appeared in the Bernardo Bertolucci drama “The Dreamers”.
Reputable actor Wright has been in so many films in recent years including “Syriana”, “Shaft”, “The Manchurian Candidate”, “Ali”, “Broken Flowers” to name but a few. He’ll next be seen in M. Night Shymalan’s “Lady in the Water” and opposite ‘Casino Royale’ co-star Daniel Craig in the ‘body snatchers’ readaptation “The Visiting.”

Speaking of “Kingdom of Heaven”. I thought that was a totally overlooked film and I am looking forward to the directors cut.
