Warner Bros studios and Village Roadshow Pictures will work together to finance a remake of the classic 1967 action/war movie ‘The Dirty Dozen.’
The original movie has enjoyed regular repeat showings on the film channels for years now thus a remake is likely to generate a great deal of interest. There is no indication of a release schedule at this early stage.
"Con Air” author Scott Rosenberg is set to join forces with televisions “Alias” writer-producers Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum on a new script that will bring the original storyline uptodate, complete with contemporary issues and political events of our time. The original 1967 actioner starred Lee Marvin as a major who conscripts and trains twelve condemned prisoners for a dangerous mission during World War 2.
Industry veteran Joel Silver will produce the new Dirty Dozen film along side Susan Downey. Downey also says “We’re giving this version a personal stake. The mission isn’t about finding gold or weapons or blowing up a castle. There is a personal element to it”. The original ‘The Dirty Dozen’ was directed by Robert Aldrich.
