The Dark Knight

The next cinema release of the Batman franchise has been confirmed. The the new Batman feature film will use the title “The Dark Knight”.
“Batman Begins” director Chris Nolan is scheduled in to direct again and Aussie actor ‘Heath Ledger’ is allegedly now confirmed to be playing the role of ‘The Joker’, one of Batman’s famous big screen enemies.

“As a follow up to last year’s blockbuster Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan is set to direct Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Dark Knight, written by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan. Additionally, Christian Bale will resume his role as Bruce Wayne and Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has been cast as The Joker.”
Batman Begins, released in 2005 saw actor Christian Bale take on the role of Bruce Wayne, the film which also starred Michale Caine is widely regarded as a great success story for the franchise that returned the Batman Movies to good standing after the series ‘lost its way’ in the late 1990’s. Production is due to commence on “The Dark Knight” in early 2007.
