TOY STORY 3 is back on
February 7th, 2006 by Cinema Eye
You may remember rumblings of a TOY STORY 3 being created by Disney against the wishes of Pixar. This was during the days when Disney and Pixar were fighting and the Pixar people were really pissed off that Disney had the rights to their creations and was going to make a sequel without their involvement. A few months ago TOY STORY 3 was called off mysteriously. Now it seems like the project was in limbo because of the impending Disney acquisition of Pixar. Now PIxar is a bonafide part of Disney and Pixar CEO Steve Jobs is on the Disney board. He’s also their largest shareholder. What a difference a year makes. With Jobs now wielding so much power it’s no real surprise that according to Bloomberg, TOY STORY 3 is now back in production, but it’s now back at Pixar where it belongs. A lot of Pixar fans were worried about this project geting manhandled at Disney, so it’s nice to now that Buzz and Woody are back where they belong. Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will once again provide voices for the characters. The story involves the toys rescuing Buzz from Taiwan after he has been recalled.
