The documentary, FLOW given the acronym ‘For Love of Water’ demonstrates the dedication director Irena Salina and her band of interviewees have for the earth’s essential resource. Her film builds a case against privatization of the world’s water supply and how corporate giants like Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Nestle rob the people and destroy the environment.

Happy-Go-Lucky
15 minutes into writer/director Mike Leigh’s saga centering on ever cheerful primary school teacher Pauline a.k.a. ‘Poppy’ (Sally Hawkins), one wonders about her annoying, unfunny and hugely irrelevant conversations. By the film’s end, Leigh and actress Hawkins will have everyone cheering for this wonderful unforgettable human being – a feat that credits HAPPY-GO-LUCKY as one of the best films of the year.

City of Ember
CITY OF EMBER is Brit director Gil Kenan’s second feature after the animated MONSTER HOUSE. He clearly leaves his mark with a dark British looking fantasy tale of hope amidst hopelessness (end of world; fate of mankind in a metal box).
