Space Chimps
The chimp movies in the old days were difficult to make with real animals being trained to perform tricks and act out parts. SPACE CHIMPS cheats with animation though the primates look quite real with an uncanny coincidental resemblance to the apes in PLANET OF THE APES.

Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
Gonzo journalism has been defined as journalism written subjectively using a first person narrative. This type of writing was spearheaded by the late journalist Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, famous for his Rolling Stone story on Hell’s Angels. His life and work is given an insightful adult examination by filmmaker Alex Gibney in his new documentary narrated by Johnny Depp.

Stuck
The film STUCK begins with the title inspired by a true event. This event in question is a hit and run that took place in Texas, 2001. A woman, believed drunk, struck a homeless man with her car and had him lodged in the windshield. She locked the car in her garage and left him to die. She was later convicted and sentenced to 50 years in prison.

A Jihad for Love
One has to hand it to filmmaker for making this brave documentary on the struggle of Muslim homosexuals. The Holy Book demands death or rather ‘stoning’ of practicing gays and Sharma has had hate mail ranging from condemnation to hell to forgiveness while making the movie. The faces of many interviewed in the film had to be blurred to protect the ‘guilty’.

Mamma Mia!
Based on the musical of the same name, MAMMA MIA! is the story of a bride-to-be, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) searching out her real father of out of 3 possibilities (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Karsgard) to have him give her away to groom (Dominic Cooper). She lives with her unwed mother (Meryl Streep) on a Greek island helping her in her club/restaurant. Mother has 2 other friends attending the wedding too. 3 men, 3 women! The audience can easily put 3 and 3 together. All these events unfold amidst the 70’s hit songs of the Swede pop group ABBA.
