Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
At one point in the film when the lost safari tourists ask the Granny From Hell where she is going, she replies: “It doesn’t matter! I am a hop and skip away from having a good time!”

Zack and Miri Make a Porno
Seth Rogen (the most probable actor to represent Kevin Smith as a teen) plays Zack, living with best friend Miri (Elizabeth Banks). Despite the suggestive title and a few ‘sexy’ scenes in the filming of the porno, Smith’s new film is essentially a good natured romantic comedy. Unfortunately, harmless fare is not Smith’s forte and this film falls short in laughs, especially when compared to the recent spat of Jude Apatow films, some of which has Rogen in. No prizes in guessing correctly whether Zack and Miri come together at the end. Even the sex jokes are mild in nature. Example: the pick up line: “Don’t thank me. F*** me!”

Let the Right One In
A series of murders suddenly takes place in an unnamed Swedish town. The common denominator is that the victims are all drained bloodless. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, is one of the slowest moving vampire (though the killer refuses to be called one) movies but by no means less effective.

The Other End of the Line
The romantic comedy THE OTHER END OF THE LINE must be given full marks for effort. Everyone is trying extremely hard to make it work – from the director, actors and to Tracey Jackson (writing the film’s hectic paced script). From the first scene to the end reel, the film jumps all over the place and so often that one gets confused whether the current setting is India or the States.

What Just Happened?
WHAT JUST HAPPENED? is a very sharp but quietly (though it does contain a number of laugh out loud moments) funny comedy tracing two weeks in the hellish life of a Hollywood producer, Ben (Robert De Niro) trying to salvage his career.
