Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
One has to hand it to Mexican director Guillermo del Toro for his boundless imagination. Ever since I saw his first horror flick CRONOS, I have never failed to be entertained less enthralled by his work – the best thing being his last film, EL LABERINTO DEL FAUNO (PAN’S LABYRINTH). PAN’S LABYRINTH is the most important and its creatures, themes and atmosphere play a large part in HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY.

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl
KIT KITTREDGE is totally wholesome American fare, as the title suggests. Kit (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE’s Abigail Breslin) is an adolescent coping with life set in the 1930’s depression. Her father (Chris O’Donnell) leaves home for Chicago after losing his job while mother (Julia Ormond) takes in boarders to make ends meet. The film traces Kit’s adventures as she deals with boarders (played by Stanley Tucci, Joan Cusack et al.), her friends and family.

Based on the novel by Monica Ali, BRICK LANE is the story of Bangladesh bride, Nazneen (Tannishtha Chatterjee) married off to a London educated man, Chanu (Satish Kaushik). The ever so obedient Nazneen finds herself when she buys a sewing machine to make some money while falling in love with the younger and handsome Chanu (Satish Kaushik) who brings her jeans to sew.

Hancock
HANCOCK plays to the variation of the super action hero. Hancock (Will Smith) is obliged to use his super-powers to save lives and rid the city of crime but he ends up destroying too much property and pissing off the public in the process. Enter good-hearted PR man, Ray (Jason Bateman) who repays Hancock for saving his life by helping him improve his public.
