A SEPARATION is a drama about a husband and wife separation but it plays more like a thriller whodunit. 

IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY (USA 2011) **
Directed by Angeline Jolie

Written and directed by Angelina Jolie, her ambitious film IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY starts off with a baby in the cradle followed by the appearance of the well dressed aunt, Ajla (Zana Marjanovic) surely a sight that reminds one of Jolie and one of her adopted babies.

HAYWIRE (USA 2011) ***
Directed by Steven Soderbergh

HAYWIRE is very similar to last year’s HANNA in which a girl with superb martial arts skill goes into hiding but still has to fight her way out of trouble by kicking and warding off countless bad guys.  HAYWIRE is directed by Steven Soderbergh, which alone is reason enough to view the film.

With the highly successful and blood excessed FRONTIER(S), writer/director Xavier Gens gets to do a apocalyptic survival movie of the highest nastiness.

CORIALANUS (UKL 2011) **
Directed by Ralph Fiennes

Grade-A effort but ultimately dreadful failure from actor Fiennes in directing and acting in William Shakespeare’s lesser known play CORIALANUS.  Cumbersome, boring and largely unwatchable, the worst idea is updating the Roman times play to the modern world of CNN News and media.
