The Boys From Brazil is to be remade

Released originally in the 1970s, the classic conspiracy thriller “The Boys From Brazil” is to be remade.
Directing the new version is none other than Brett Ratner, famous for his delivery of recent blockbusters such as X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour and Red Dragon, the prequel to Silence of the Lambs.
The film, based on a book by Ira Levin, centres on a sinister plot to restore the German Nazis through advanced cloning techniques.
Ratner told Variety magazine that the new version of “The Boys from Brazil” would work far better than the original because “you no longer have to spend time explaining cloning as you did then.” In the 1970’s cloning was very much a concept, not yet a reality like it is today and had more of a place in science fiction than in a mainstream thriller.
The Boys From Brazil remake is said to be Brett Ratner’s next movie project after the Rush Hour sequel which will be in cinemas in 2007. The original version of “he Boys from Brazil” starred Laurence Olivier and Gregory Peck.
