Disney and Pixar together again?

Over the last year, plenty of ink has been spilled on the subject of Disney’s split with Pixar. Previous Disney honcho Michael Eisner made the wrong enemy when he tried to boss Pixar head Steve Jobs around. Jobs ended up breaking off negotiations stating that he would have nothing to do with Disney as long as Eisner was still around. Well, guess what? Eisner is out and Robert Iger is the new head of Disney. Mere weeks after Eisner’s departure comes the announcement that ABC television shows will be available for download via Apple’s iTunes. ABC is owned by Disney in case you missed the connection.
The LA Times had this to say about yesterdays Apple keynote presentation:
Iger and Jobs certainly looked to be on good terms Wednesday, shaking hands on stage at the California Theatre and jokingly alluding to the Disney-Pixar agreement.
Jobs, by way of acknowledging that ABC is owned by Disney, got a laugh when he said, “I know these guys.”Iger also took a stab at humor.
“We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with Steve through Pixar and it’s great to announce an extension through Apple — not Pixar,” he said. “That’ll be for another time.”
